There has been further success for our Trailblazers this month with Lucy Roze being accepted on the LTA Futures Programme.

This new initiative is designed to provide the most talented youngsters in Britain with the best opportunity to make the transition from promising junior players into the next generation of tennis champions.

Over the next three years, the aim is to establish a group of young players in each county - aged between 11 and 13 for boys and 10 and 13 for girls.

Some of these young players known as 'Future Players' will follow a national programme of physical training, tennis coaching and competition to prepare them to reach the highest levels. Competition is the key aspect of training of training for these young players. Once selected, they learn about competitive techniques, tactical, physical and mental strategies. They are encouraged to develop their ambition to succeed and their love of play in a competitive environment.

Lucy Roze joined us as a Trailblazer last year and quickly became the under 10s county champion. She was soon spotted by the LTA at one of their training days was invited to become a Futures Player on their programme. We're delighted that Lucy's talent has been recognised by the LTA and wish her the very best with her game.
