As many of you will know, this year we are celebrating the 10th year of the Tennis Trail, the nationwide programme that has introduced and encouraged more than 200,000 children to pick up a tennis racket.

More than ever before, the Tennis Trail is capturing the public's imagination and our 10th anniversary tour has featured on a number of television news programmes. Our publicity was given an additional boost last month when our celebrity founders joined the Trail on it's nationwide tour.

During the recent visits to primary schools in the London area, Sir Cliff Richard and Sue Barker delighted children and teachers by dropping in to participate in the Tennis Trail sessions.

Meanwhile at Oaklands Primary School in Hanwell later that week, Cliff popped in to join another tennis Trail session and demonstrated some racket and ball skills of his own! Whilst there he was also interviewed by BBC television news and spoke about the aims of the Tennis Trail.

"The Tennis Trail isn't about finding the next Wimbledon Champion. It's about introducing children to a fun and enjoyable sport. Tennis gives children an opportunity to meet new friends and to succeed, but most importantly it introduces them to a healthier, more active lifestyle"
