Tennis Bounceathon

Each year we hold a special Christmas Fundraising Event at Hampton Court Palace to raise money for our 'Kids on Court' Campaign. The 2002 event, held on the 18th of December, was our third evening at the Palace,

Guests at our Christmas Celebration are treated to an evening of fine food, music and entertainment in the magnificent setting of King Henry VIII's palace, a perfect location particularly as Henry himself was a tennis player and built a court there.

Hampton Court is spectatcular at night and our guests enter the palace to the tune of bagpipes along an avenue of flaming torches. This year, we changed the proceedings slightly to allow our guests to experience some other areas of the Palace, continuing our theme of a Tudor Christmas.

The evening began with a drinks reception in the Tudor Kitchens, parts of which date from 1514. A roaring log fire had been lit in the main kitchen and our guests gathered around the fire with glasses of mulled wine

Our evening has become popular and a regular fixture for many of our corporate and celebrity sponsors who kindly support our work  They contribute to our cause by attending the event so we're always very grateful for their support. It's also great to see so many familiar faces brought together for a such special evening. This year amongst others, we were joined by Cherie Blair, the Rt. Honourable William Hague and Ffion Hague, Sir Derek Jacobi, Elaine Paige, and Hannah Gordon.

And not forgetting of course, Tennis Foundation patrons Mike Read, Ainsley Harriott and Gloria Hunniford. Ainsley however, did admit to forgetting what
