'All good things must come to an end', they say, and sadly we have to announce that this year's Tennis Classic at the NIA will be the last.
It was 22 years ago that Cliff, Sue and Bill presented the first tennis tournament in front of a relatively sparse audience at the Brighton Centre. No-one could have imagined then that the event was to become one of the fans' most keenly-anticipated highlights of each year, or that it would develop into the UK's biggest annual indoor tennis attraction.
There are a number of factors which have now led to Cliff, Sue and Bill agreeing that it's time to roll up the court for the final time after what is sure to be a fantastic climax on 17 December. We're aware that many of you will be greatly disappointed, but life moves on and the old adage 'Quit while you're ahead' is appropriate - particularly after last year's Classic was adjudged one of the best ever.
To those who have supported the tennis event right from the start, we're grateful and privileged to have contributed a little to your Christmas enjoyment for so long
